Intimate Wedding on Pelee Island
This intimate Pelee Island wedding was one for the books. When I first met Sam & Kole in person, I travelled to Pelee Island to document their engagement session. Sam – having lived on the island for many years with her family, knew all the nooks and crannies that the beautiful island had to offer. Now I got to return to capture an intimate wedding celebration with their closest family and friends. Such a unique and memorable day!
If there is one thing that I love, it is chill wedding days where I can capture all the interaction and memorable bits of the day. I started by getting a few details, such as the incredible wedding invitation suite from The Elle & Em. The morning set the whole tone of the day, Sam getting ready with her gals and enjoying champagne!
Kole and his guys also had a relaxed morning. Enjoying some drinks and soaking in the shoreline views from a nearby cottage.
Their First Look
Sam & Kole knew the owners of the Pelee Club, so we were able to capture their first look and group photos on the grounds. Also they had some photos with their dog Willow! I just love when my couples bring their dogs for photos and make them a part of their wedding day. Future couples – bring your dog to your celebrations! Even if it is just for a few minutes. I will make sure to get a few amazing images.
The Ceremony
The intimate wedding ceremony was in a location that was so unreal. Sam & Kole had acquired the private grounds of the Vin Villa, and it was quite the setting. The ceremony was set up in a little amphitheatre overlooking Lake Erie, their wedding arch (or wedding hexagon in this case!) was adorned with beautiful florals from House of Flower in Leamington. It was quiet, peaceful and so calming to listen to the waves wash over the rocks while their vows were exchanged.
The Reception
Sam & Kole’s reception was at the Vin Villa where they held the cocktail hour in the rustic ruins with a tent set up for the dinner and dancing portion of the evening. It was so relaxed, fun and everyone had such a fun time partying the night away. We also stayed a bit in the evening to partake in some dancing! (Yes we love to have fun as well haha).
Altogether, this intimate wedding on Pelee Island was simply amazing. I’m so honoured I got to document this day for them and consider these two top notch humans! XOCJ
